Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for AFCAT 2 2024:

  • Age Limit:

  • AFCAT 2024 Age Requirements (Effective July 1, 2024)

    • Flying Branch:

      • Minimum Age: 20 years
      • Maximum Age: 24 years (26 years for candidates with a valid Commercial Pilot License from DGCA)
      • Birth Date Range: January 2, 2001, to January 1, 2005
    • Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical):

      • Minimum Age: 20 years
      • Maximum Age: 26 years
      • Birth Date Range: January 2, 1999, to January 1, 2005

    Important Note: Applicants under 25 years of age must be unmarried at the start of the course. This includes widowed, divorced, or separated individuals.

  • Educational Qualification:

    • Flying Branch: Minimum 50% in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60%.
    • Ground Duty (Technical): Minimum 60% in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and an Engineering degree.
    • Ground Duty (Non-Technical): Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60%.

Selection Process:

  1. Written Test: Candidates who clear the written test are called for AFSB testing.
  2. AFSB Testing: This stage consists of two stages – Stage 1 (Screening) and Stage 2 (Testing).
  3. Medical Examination: Recommended candidates undergo a medical examination at designated centers.

AFCAT 2024 Salary Compensation and Benefits

During their final year of training, AFCAT cadets receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 56,100. Upon completing training, they are commissioned as Air Officers and placed in Level 10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission’s Pay Matrix (Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,10,700). Additionally, they receive a Military Service Pay of Rs. 15,500.

Officers in the Flying Branch receive an extra Rs. 11,250 per month, while Technical Branch Officers get an additional Rs. 2,500. Beyond this, officers are entitled to various other allowances, including Travel Allowance (TA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Children Education Allowance, and Ration Money Allowance.
